We are very happy that Limnionas Village is listed besides beach resorts on the Seychelles, Hawaii and Mauritius. In their article the editors describe 50 extraordinary resorts set apart by their design, service and location.

"The abundant green area of this bungalow village in the south-west of Samos is about one of the smoothest sandy beaches on the island. Within half a minute a footway leads to the sea. Cottages in cycladic style with masoned benches, woven blankets and colorful ceramic tiles. Not large, but charming. The clue: the barbecue on each outdoor terrace. The German-Austrian owners are very relaxed."

After travelling a year through Greece for the British travel guide “Alastair Sawday’s-Special Places to Stay”, author Michael Cullen came to Limnionas Village by chance on the last day of his trip. He wrote the following text about his visit:

“Limnionas Village - one of the loveliest beachside places in Greece.
Under a dense canopy of olive, carob and loquat trees, a clutch of white bungalows has grown up organically among curling trunks and dripping vines. They flow into one another via bamboo-shaded patios and bordered pathways; no gates or screens, just generous guests sharing a beautiful spot. The owners are German-Austrian and have travelled widely; many of the guests likewise. The atmosphere of meditative calm is presided over by multi-lingual, musical Renée. Inside, open-plan whitewashed rooms merge around a wood-burning stove (which draws artists for winter stays); there are one or two bedrooms, and a kitchen both beautiful and functional (painted Samiot cups, blazed earthenware bowls). Offsetting the whiteness are vivid bedspreads in gorgeous magenta-and turquoise or ochre-and–burgundy. A frieze of coloured tiles runs around the curving floor and up the shower walls, a legacy of architect Werner Wieland’s years in Mexico. It’s 30 seconds by flip-flop to a perfect beach, with two tavernas and five fishing boats."

Ormos Limnionas, the bay of Limnionas, is located at the south-west corner of Samos, at the base of the 1435 meters high mountain Kerkis. Our picturesque holiday village lies hidden in an olive grove. Limnionas means harbour of silence. Still, you can hear the bright chirr of the crickets and the ceaseless rush of the sea, tinting up over the sand and pebble beach.
